How many times can aluminium be recycled?

Aluminium is one of the few materials that can be recycled infinitely without losing its original properties. This means it can go through countless recycling cycles — from a drinks can to an aluminium tray, and then to a car part — while maintaining the same level of strength, lightness and resistance.
Unlike other packaging materials, recyclable aluminium helps significantly reduce the need for virgin raw materials and the energy required for production.

Every time aluminium is recycled, energy savings of up to 95% are achieved compared to producing it from bauxite, its natural ore. This is why it is considered one of the most sustainable and efficient materials for food packaging and circular economy models.

How aluminium recycling works

The recycling process begins with the collection and sorting of aluminium waste, which is then cleaned, melted and transformed into new products.
Thanks to its high recyclability, the material can be reused for a wide range of applications — not just in the food packaging industry, but also in construction, automotive, and electronics.

In Europe, the aluminium recycling rate exceeds 75%, demonstrating the efficiency of the recovery and reprocessing systems in place. This circular model plays a key role in reducing environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions.

What can be made from recycled aluminium

Wondering what can be made from recycled aluminium? The answer is: almost everything. From trays, foil rolls and beverage cans to engine components, window frames and furniture, aluminium retains its mechanical and aesthetic properties throughout every recycling cycle.
For the food industry, using recycled aluminium trays and containers means offering products that combine sustainability, safety and practicality, fully aligned with European food-contact regulations.

Aluminum and sustainability: an ongoing commitment

By choosing recyclable aluminium products means helping reduce COâ‚‚ emissions and preserving natural resources.
For this reason, more and more companies in the industry are promoting the use of aluminium from recycled and recyclable sources, integrating every stage of the production process with principles of environmental responsibility and certified quality.

The goal is to close the recycling loop by offering sustainable, safe, and high-performance packaging solutions, perfectly aligned with market demands and the needs of environmentally conscious consumers.
